As a few of you know, my husband and I started the keto diet a few months ago and our waistlines have been shrinking ever sense. In three months we’ve lost over 55 lbs collectively. Naturally people are starting to ask if it is healthy. My response is always: “as healthy as the ‘American’ diet.” But more than that they ask about meal plans, recipes and resources. So I thought I would take a moment to share My Favorite Keto Resources with you!
First off, you are going to have to arm yourself with some data. If you haven’t seen the Netflix keto documentary I suggest you watch The Magic Pill.
My Favorite KETO Resources – All Things Keto
No. 1: Dr. Berg
I can not say enough; he has over one million followers, so you can decide for yourself. Anytime I visit his YouTube channel I am there for some time! He covers everything including keto flu, fatigue, body types and so on. Dr. Berg is also on Facebook.
No. 2: Fit2Fat2Fit
This buy is the reason I started the keto diet in the first place. My husband and I followed the plan to the letter for 60 days (including exercise) and lost over 30 lbs collectively. He has great tips on how to stay on a keto diet while traveling and more. He also has around 1M followers on Facebook.
My Favorite KETO Resources – Recipes
No. 1:Peace, Love & Low Carbs
She has a whole line of cookbooks: Craveable Keto, Keto Happy Hour and 30 Minute Ketogenic Cooking I own two of the three. We love so many of these recipes I do not know where to start; her website is awesome and packed full of delicious recipes.
No. 2: Keto Connect
These guys are a great couple and they are always trying and making new recipes. You can find their famous 2 Ingredient Tortilla recipe on YouTube and they are on Facebook. They also came out with a cookbook with a really good granola recipe!
My Favorite KETO Resources – Instagram
Below are my favorite hashtags to follow. If you are not sure which ones to follow yourself, just think of what interests you the most and enter it into the search box. For example, I love Mexican food, so I went to the IG search box and entered Mexicanketo (and vice versa!). In the top of the search you will see a “#” or a persons face. I select the hashtag and when taken to that page I select “Follow”. Then if anyone posts on #Mexicanketo or #ketoMexian it shows up in my feed. I have found soooo many great resources this way, including this Gem!
You can follow people too, like Keto_In_Pearls, who has the most amazing cheesecake recipe (and all the people mentioned above). And us of course: @domesticatingscout! Here are a few posts you might see:
Speaking of humor, it will take you a long way in this journey, especially when you’re first starting out and switching fuel sources. Here are my all time favorite keto memes:
Hopefully you found My Favorite Keto Resources a great tool on your own #ketotransformation! Remember, Dr. Berg covers a wide variety of topics and is a great resource for all things related to health (and recipes). The Fit2Fat2Fit Jay Leno interview that started it all will probably amaze you too! I can not recommend YouTube and Instagram (IG) as great resources enough. When it comes to IG just think about what you want to eat right now, add keto to it, and you’ll find the perfect hashtags to follow.
